Kop Van Scharloo

Urban and feasability study for the development of the ancient eastern wharf of the inner city harbour of Willemstad, Curacao. A collaboration with Anne Schram, Kees Van Ruyven and Island Design.

Two  urban scenarios were developped. 1. Giving continuation tot the urban front of the by UNESCO declared worldheritage skyline of  Willemstad. 2. Making a layered  urban front  with loose buildings that recall the ancient dock-buildings on the wharf , allows the continuation of some important views from the neighboorhood  behind  and the realization of bigger surfaces of program in the plint.
The urban contours  and the infill for urban development for the layered scenario were defined.
